In-Service Exam
How to Administer the APPCMPD/ACCP/ATS Inservice Training Examination
- Program directors or their designated primary contact will be provided with a special link that takes them to a secure online area that requires a unique login and password to access the registration area. The login and passwords will be provided via e-mail from the testing agency right before the registration period in March. Program directors, or their designated primary contact, will be able to register their first year, second year, and third year fellows. The registration period for 2010 testing will begin March 1, 2010, and end April 25, 2010.
NOTE: The “From” e-mail address for the password e-mail notices is “AMP Examination Services” and the actual e-mail address is
. If you think you have not received the login and password information, please check your junk mail folder for these parameters.
- Program directors or their designated primary contact will receive a confirmation e-mail for each fellow they register for an examination. The confirmation e-mail will include the fellow’s name (provided during the registration period) and the training year of the fellow (ie, first year, second year, or third year). The e-mail will also contain a URL (link) that will take the fellow to the login page for the scheduled examination, as well as provide an ID number and password for that fellow. It will be critical that these confirmation e-mails be kept secure until the examination is ready to be administered under controlled/supervised conditions. An online manual is available to program directors.
- The examination should be given to fellows “on-site” as a closed book test with a limit of a 3 hour testing period.
- Program directors, or their designated primary contact, may administer the 2010 examination to fellows any time during the 2-week testing window (April 26, 2010 - May 7, 2010).
- Fellows may be tested all at the same time or individually as set up by the program director; however, a group administration is recommended to reduce the opportunity for fellows who have taken the examination to discuss content with other fellows who have not yet tested.
- It will be the responsibility of each program director to insure the integrity of the exam testing at their individual institutions. Although specific recommended procedures will be provided to the program director prior to the testing window, the proctor should:
- monitor each test administration without distracting test takers or unnecessarily increasing their anxiety.
- ensure test takers do not bring testing aides with them including text books, pocket manuals, notes, mobile phones, pagers, and equipment that will capture digital images.
- ensure test takers do not communicate with one another during the administration
- Program directors, or their designated primary contact, will be provided with contact information in the event technical difficulties occur during the test administration.
- NOTE: Program directors who register their fellows will be able to register to take the examination themselves, free of charge, if they choose. If you are interested in taking the examination yourself one time at no cost, please send your name, program name, and program code via e-mail to WTA@goAMP.com. Please put the words “Complimentary Exam – APCCMPD” in the subject line to ensure accurate processing of your request.
- Upon completion of the exam, program directors or their designated primary contact will receive their fellows’ individual scores. Aggregate scores for comparison across all fellows who took the exam will be posted on the APCCMPD Web site when available.
